Tata Nexon EV Highway Range Test – 380+ km Confirmed

When it comes to EVs, the most asked question is: “Kitna range deti hai?” Therefore, to find out, I recently tested my Tata Nexon EV 45 kWh on a real highway drive from Agra to Greater Noida. Moreover, I carefully noted battery percentage, distance covered, and even the energy consumption readings.

Here’s the full breakdown 👇

Route & Distance Covered

In fact, this route offered a good mix of smooth highways and mild traffic, which made the test more realistic.

Driving Conditions

As a result, the drive closely reflected how most EV owners would use their car in real-world conditions.

Battery Consumption & Efficiency Breakdown

I monitored the trip at different checkpoints. Interestingly, the results showed very consistent performance.

🔹 100% → 75% Battery

🔹 100% → 52% Battery (After 190 km)

👉 Therefore, on a full charge (100%), the Nexon EV 45 kWh can easily deliver 380–390 km real-world range with AC running and highway speeds.

Why These Numbers Matter

First of all, even with AC always on, the efficiency remained stable (AEC 116 → 117 Wh/km).
Secondly, driving at a steady 75–85 km/h proved to be the sweet spot for balancing speed and efficiency.
Finally, smooth driving style + regen braking made a big difference in battery utilization.

Tips to Maximize Tata Nexon EV Range

  1. Use Eco Mode for highway runs.
  2. Maintain steady speeds (70–85 km/h).
  3. Keep AC at moderate levels (22–24°C).
  4. Accelerate gradually; avoid harsh throttle.
  5. Use regenerative braking effectively.
  6. Don’t push battery below 5% – instead, plan charging stops smartly.

Final Verdict

Overall, this real-world highway test proves that the Tata Nexon EV 45 kWh is capable of 380–390 km range under practical driving conditions.

✅ 99.1 km in first 25% battery
✅ 190 km driven with 52% battery still left
✅ AEC: 116 → 117 Wh/km (very consistent)

Therefore, for EV owners and buyers, long trips are stress-free as long as you plan charging stops wisely.
